You’ve got a new job and are facing your first day. The nervousness may be great, and the questions are quite possibly many:<\/p>

How are the colleagues?<\/strong><\/h4>

Do I fit into the team?<\/strong><\/h4>

There are countless questions when you have to start a new place<\/p>

However, it is always important that you remember that the reason you have been hired is that the employer believes that you can handle the job in question. It is still important to make a good impression both on your boss and just as much on your new colleagues.<\/p>

Come on time<\/strong><\/h4>

It may be very impractical to mention, but the importance of being there on time cannot be underestimated. It is better to be there on time than to be late. Your time is not worth more than anyone else’s, so do everyone the favor of being there at the agreed time.<\/p>

The meeting with new colleagues<\/strong><\/h4>

When you meet your new colleagues, you must be open and welcoming. You must make sure to greet them and show interest in them and the work they do in the company. Your new colleagues are a large part of your well-being in the workplace. Therefore, it is also extremely important that you are accommodating toward them.<\/p>

A good place to get to know your new colleagues is at the first lunch. Here you can also expect to be asked many questions, as everyone naturally wants to talk to the new employee.<\/p>

First work assignment<\/strong><\/h4>

Often your first work assignment will consist of something you will have to deal with for the entire time you are at the workplace. That is why it is also important that you ask about the things you have doubts about from the start.<\/p>

Of course, your employer understands that it is your first day and that there will be many questions about the whole thing, but it is still a good idea to be extremely attentive so that you avoid asking the same question several times since it can contribute to giving a bad impression.<\/p>

Instead, you can write down the things that you are told, and possibly ask a colleague for help if there are still doubts. However, you should never refrain from asking questions if you do not understand the information you are given.<\/p>

If you simply nod and still haven’t understood the information, this can also be misinterpreted and give a bad impression. It is a balance that you have to try to find yourself.<\/p>

Remember to say goodbye<\/strong><\/h4>

Before you go home, you must say goodbye to your boss and your colleagues. It gives them the feeling that you are a professional employee. This may also be where you spend some time evaluating the day with your boss and asking any questions that may have arisen during the day.<\/p>

Don’t expect too much<\/strong><\/h4>

Many people have far too high expectations for their first day of work, and therefore it can feel like a disappointment to many, without it being so. It can be difficult as a brand new person to step into a company and do the things that you had planned from day one.<\/p>

It takes time to understand the roles in a company, and it also takes time to get to know yourself in a new place \u2013 both professionally and personally.<\/p>

Improvements<\/strong><\/h4>

On your first day at work, you may well see something that you think is ineffective. However, you must be careful not to point this out too early. It takes time to get used to and understand how everyone works and why.
